Kate is a photographer, filmmaker and naturalist telling local stories of nature connection, forgotten wildlife and conservation efforts in the wild areas of the southern England. Inspired by the world around them, they use photography to create wonder for forgotten and depleting species including British moths, insects that are reducing in numbers and often demonised and misrepresented in media. Kate’s work is dynamic and combines a variety of lens-based image making techniques.
Much more than annoying insects that eats your clothes, moths have been misunderstood for centuries. Drawn to the Light is a multifaceted project that aims to reframe moths beyond being pesky insects that fly around your room at night by blurring the line between myth and moth.
