Rosie Loizeau - The Space Between

Rosie Loizeau is a mixed media artist who uses visual experimentation to communicate human stories. Film making is her primary method for exposing stories that she feels are important for the world to see.

The Space Between originated from asking the question ‘where do we go when we search for memories?’ Being drawn to people and conversations, this project is driven by experiences and led by the personal narratives included.

The Space Between refers to both physical and mental reactions to the mind traveling elsewhere to find a moment in the past. The project is an archaeology of the lighter and darker memories of boys in their early twenties transitioning into their adulthood coping with the complexities surrounding mental health. Exploring the intimacies that are often overlooked. The aim of this project, and previous works produced by Rosie, is to open a dialogue within a society that normalizes conversation surrounding the difficult topics.
