Zac Johnstone, a 21-year-old Filmmaker and Photographer from Darlington in the North-East of England.
Zac is focussed on telling relatable stories through his visuals, dedicated to the one factor we all notice in film and TV – how it looks. Through this he is able to tell stories with a more approachable standpoint. Since moving to Cornwall some years ago, Zac has redefined his style and developed new techniques due to being surrounded by others in the creative industry and reaching out to those further afield that inspire him most to help guide him through his ambition.
Long Shot is Zac’s most recent pursuit. A short documentary focussing on the life of a deer stalker, why unmanaged deer numbers are a detriment to a local ecosystem and humanising the people working to better the Scottish ecosystem that are often demonised. Cameron Waite talks us through his day-to-day life, how much he cares for deer despite his employment requiring him to cull back their numbers in their hundreds year-by-year. A compassionate yet striking story that is sure to redefine your opinion and morals of deer management.
